Daniel W. Plants
PLANTS, Daniel “Dan” Wayne, 51, of Triadelphia, W.Va., died on Monday, September 24, 2007, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was born August 24, 1956, in Oak Dale, Calif., the son of the late William and Marty Alexander Plants.
Dan was owner of Daniel Plants Tower Maintenance in Triadelphia, having worked in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia and the general tri- state area. He invented and created the Wizbang, which is a climbing device used to pull himself and operating materials up the tower he would be working on.
He also was a member of Harbor of Hope Assembly of God in St Clairsville, Ohio, where he taught Sunday School.
His children said he was the most patient, caring man who was driven with complete passion and understanding not only for his work, but for his family and was a man after God’s own heart. He had unlimited wisdom and was very generous and compassionate; was a loving husband, father, friend, and son-in-law and had a host of friends in the Broadcasting and Tower Industry. He was known to his family in California as Danny.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, James Crawley.
Surviving are his loving wife, Caroline Judith Crawley Plants; three sons, Daniel W. Plants, Nathan J. Plants and Justin M. Plants all of Triadelphia; his brothers and sisters, Louri Nuggent of Oak Dale, Calif., Sheila Whittington of Louisiana, Larry Plants and Steven Plants both of Oak Dale; his mother-in-law, Caroline Judith Crawley of Pittsburgh, Pa.; several loving Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews; and his dog, Sebastian.
Friends received on Thursday, September 27, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at Harbor of Hope Assembly of God, 67667 Warnoch Rd., St Clairsville, OH, exit 216, where services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007, at noon with Pastor Dean Myers officiating.
Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
Arrangements by Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling, WV.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Daniel Plants Memorial Fund, in c/o Wesbanco Bank, 1 Bank Plaza, Wheeling, WV 26003. Any of the Wesbanco Banks will accept the memorial contribution in Daniel Plant’s memory.
