Wayne Eugene Chambers

CHAMBERS, Wayne Eugene, 49, of Cameron, W.Va., departed this life on July 11, 2008, in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, W.Va., surrounded by family and friends.

He was born May 18, 1959, in Wheeling, a son of Lucille Chambers of Cameron and the late Bobbie Joe Chambers, Sr.

Wayne was an active member of the Cameron E- Squad, where he was a member for 28 years having served as an EMT, President, Treasurer and a Driver. He also was a member of the Cameron Volunteer Fire Department, where he proudly served in various capacities for 30 years including Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, President, Treasurer, and was Fireman of the Year. He served as a RESA- 6 Fire Service Instructor and played an active role in Cameron's Alumni FFA Organization, where he served as treasurer.

He was a groundsman for Marshall County Schools; and a member of the former First Baptist Church in Cameron.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobbie Joe Chambers, Jr.

In addition to his mother, survivors include a sister, Mary Jane (James) Dolan; a brother, Roger (Jennifer) Chambers all of Cameron; a niece, Monique (Matthew) Call of Mannington, W.Va.; two nephews, Austin and Brayden of Cameron; a great-nephew, Wyatt Bridger Call of Mannington; three aunts, Thelma (Paul) Metea of Warren, Ohio, Georgia Anderson of Cameron, and Lilo Chambers of Tampa, Fla.; one uncle, Paul (Mary Kay) Chambers of Moundsville; and several cousins.

Family will receive friends on Sunday from noon-3 and 7-9 p.m., at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville, where funeral services will be held on Monday, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Beth Mencer and Pastor Dave McCombs officiating.

Interment in Highland Cemetery, Cameron.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cameron Fire Department and E-Squad, 44 Main Street, Cameron, WV 26033.
