BELMONT - At least six people were taken to local hospitals Saturday evening after two pick-up trucks collided on Barkcamp Road.
Two men in one of the trucks reportedly fled the scene, leading troopers with the Ohio State HIghway Patrol to search the surrounding area. One nearby resident reported seeing a man with no shirt walking on Mueller Road. She said he crouched in the weeds as she passed; however, as of 9 p.m. police had not located that man.
A second man who allegedly fled was apprehended by Trooper Scott Moore near Ohio 149. Moore said the man had suffered a head injury in the crash and was "very under the influence."

At least six people were injured and taken to local hospitals as a resul of a two-vehicle crash on Barkcamp Road at 7:40 p.m. Saturday.
That man apparently was not driving either vehicle and was taken to a local hospital by a Lafferty Volunteer Fire Department emergency squad.
Moore said that man was not arrested.
OSP dispatch officials said at press time that troopers still were searching for other men who fled the scene. And no one had been arrested.
Members of the Belmont and Bethesda VFDs who remained at the crash site after all victims were transported worked to clear the roadway. They were not certain who the victims were or to which hospitals they were taken. The extent of the victims' injuries was not known at press time.
