Vice President Biden Stumps for Space

From Staff, AP Dispatches
POSTED: October 27, 2009

CLEVELAND - Vice President Joe Biden told an Ohio audience that the federal economic stimulus package is helping to revive the U.S. economy and has helped stabilize the financial markets.

Biden spoke Monday inside a Cleveland Hopkins Airport firehouse as hard-hat crews started a $16 million project funded by taxpayer dollars. The vice president also attended a $1,000-a-plate fundraiser Monday afternoon at the Crowne Plaza Cleveland City Centre hotel for U.S. Reps. Zack Space and John Boccieri, both D-Ohio.

Space and Boccieri earlier this year voted for the White House-backed Cap and Trade legislation. That legislation passed by a 219-212 vote and currently is pending in the Senate.

During his talk Monday in Cleveland, Biden said major U.S. banks were facing collapse and economists were predicting a possible depression when President Obama took office in January.

Biden says there is still a lot of work to do to solidify the economy, but that the airport project in Cleveland is an example of what Washington is doing.

He said the project will employ about 200 people and be completed by mid-2010.

Wonder, The #'s are from various sources. The 52 months job growth number/116 million benefitting is from his final state of the union address, From Factcheckdotorg "It's true that the number of consecutive months in which the economy has added jobs is the longest on record." And FactCheck aslso states "Bush's "record" run began in August 2003, the gain has been 8.3 million." The Clinton admin actually had over 20 million.

The GDP # was from Bureau of Economic Analysis and you can call Bono if you want to confirm how many people he helped in Africa.

Remember when Jerry Springer was campaigning for Kerry and Gore. The DNC basically told him NOT to stump for Obama. Bden is perceived as a mispoken bafoon. Since Space and Wilson both refuse to hold Town Halls with the very people who put him in office, the vulnerable Dems are using so-called star power to sway voters. However, there is more animosity towards the present incumbancy that it may not matter. Elections next week will be a borometer on the socialist agendas from the White house and the Democratic Party as leftist.

WVEX....George Bush certainly made his share of mistakes but he did do a lot of good things for the country as you mention plus he made two fine Supreme Court appointments.

He also demonstrated leadership during one of the most trying times in modern America with the 9/11 event. After 8 years of the deceptive antics of Bill & Hillary Clinton, George Bush was a welcome relief. The things I am most skeptical about though is his connections with the oil companies, the Iraq war, and the excessively high gasoline prices. I also didn't like the idea of the government bailing out Wall Street. George Bush did however embrace American traditions and Christian values unlike the current president.

Gillso, Which did you hate the most about the last 8 years? The 52 straight months of job growth, the 8.3 million jobs created, the 17% jump in GDP, the 116 million Americans who benefitted from tax cuts, the millions of people he helped in Africa. I will agree that his spending policy was indeed bad.

But stating that the last admin was worst we could do is nothing but viewing the past w/ partisan glasses.

Did the Vice President say anything about Zach being "clean, bright, and articulate"?

I'm not sure this is the best we can do but I am certain we just ended eight miserable years with the worst we could do.

“Stumping for Space”??? Is that a new reality TV show or something!! Kind of like “Dialing for Dollars” or “Slobbering for S e x” or whatever!!! L M A O!

Biden famous quotes: “The Stimulus has worked beyond our wildest dreams!!” July 2009 Then “We’re not in a recession. We are in a DEPRESSION! “ Oct. 2009. DOH!

Having Joe “the Gaffemaster” Biden stump for Space is like having Robert Byrd accompany him to an NAACP convention, or taking Michael Vick along to an SPCA meeting, or having Mike Tyson accompany him to a Women’s Rights Convention, or… OK, OK you get picture.

Reports and studies indicate the overwhelming Obama vote support base was mobs or groups of minimal educated folks. Mostly the younger voter who never paid for anything on their own and didn't grasp fact that once you leave home and stop sponging off Mom and Dad , you get a bill later for whatever you ask somebody to provide. Of elegible voters, there wern't many that actually voted unless you only count those who for whatever reasonor wxcuse really wasted the vote. All America clearly sees the error of not voting. It isn't beyond hope for America to think beginning 2010 the more informed voters will stand up and correct this fluke. By 2012 election , Obama, Michelle, Biden, and three or four naive posters from the ohio valley may be the only democrats registered.

First of all I am shocking myself even getting involved in this. In the commemt section it asked if you would pay $ to see the Vice President, absolutely not one cent. I have to respect him because that is the right thing to do, however I do not have to like him, and personally that is my opinion, and my right as an American! I guess it is safe to let you know he did not get there on my vote. However he is and that is that.
