GUMMERSON, Richard Dean, 63, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, in H.J. Heinz III VAMC in Aspinwall, Pennsylvania.
He was born July 22, 1946, in Monmouth, Illinois, son of the late Joseph and Agatha DiPrima Gummerson.
Richard was a retired Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force and served three years in the U.S. Navy. He was an employee of Russell Nesbitt Services; a member and Head Elder at the Wheeling Seventh-Day Adventist Church; and he enjoyed composing music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Gummerson.
Richard is survived by his wife, Violeta Quinones Gummerson; his son, Tim Gummerson of St. Clairsville; a daughter, Grace Casiano of St. Croix; three sisters, Margie Smith, Donna Moore and Martha Gummerson; a brother, Paul Gummerson; nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 5, at 6 p.m. at the Wheeling Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Wheeling, West Virginia, with Pastor Robert L. "Doc" Michael officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
