Health Care Cost Cynics Were Right
By the News-RegisterOne of President Barack Obama's big health care takeover selling points was that the whole thing would cost less than $1 trillion. Even that figure, incomprehensible to most Americans, was low - and there is no doubt Obama and his liberal cronies in Congress knew it.
Congressional budget analysts say the new health care law probably will cost at least $115 billion more than had been claimed.
The additional funding was not included in Congressional Budget Office estimates during the weeks before Congress enacted the health care measure. At the time, conservatives maintained the CBO cost estimate was wrong. Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said, in essence, that the critics were lying.
They were telling the truth. Obviously, the liberals were not.
In order to get the official cost estimates below $1 trillion, the White House and congressional liberals used what amounts to a dirty, dishonest little trick. They wrote the law to call for certain programs but did not include funding for them. Now Congress has the choice of either rewriting the law to rescind politically popular specifics - or appropriating the money to pay for them.
Deception used to enact the health care takeover was breathtaking in its scope. Now, however, the public is learning that conservatives who opposed the plan were being honest about their concerns - about the cost of the program for Americans both as taxpayers and as health care consumers.
We hope that will provide momentum for those who have suggested revisiting the bill.

The millions of illegals will cost the American public a fortune in health care.The children- born here- will be eligible for Medicaid while the illegal parents and siblings will continue using ERs: shifting costs to both private and public plans.It is millions of people and billions of dollars in the border states.

mastle: Why do you think Arizona is putting the new laws in place? Answer: Financial self preservation.The other border states will follow for the same reason. By the way Houston is a major portal/distribution point for illegal Mexican drug traffic which is conducted there by the illegal community there.

Mastle:No match for the 500,000+ city of illegals within the City of Houston. Crime is out of control and trying to deport 500,000 people is impossible.Note that the children born to illegals ,while here, are legal,thus complicating things.I might add that a lower class Mexican mother, who does not have at least a dozen children, is considered a slacker(by her peers.) Maestle,the situation is an enormous expense to all of the USA,but especially the border states. The illegals will not be eligible for free health care but their legal children will be.Those who are illegal will continue going to the ERs. The situation is an unauthorized refugee program of sorts.

Ellis is right on this.The situation is unaffordable.The Arizona Governor is correct in her actions.Although a woman,she has b**ls. There are legal channels for immigration which include Central American persons wishing to apply. The siutation is like students showing up for college classes-by the millions- with out even applying and squatting in the dorms as well. It is perposterious. I can tell you first hand,the ER at the Houston Medical Center(Ben Taub) is an eye opening experiance:with English spoken rarely by the hordes of illegal mothers ready to give birth night and day 24/7. Then there are the nightly stab wounds. It is breaking the Hospital,the City and Harris County. The Police have given up.They are no match.

Reactionary, i answered your question, you failed to answer any of mine. Constitution gives us the right to privacy. If we wish to cutout a collection of cells, that is our choice. An embryo is NOT a human being, it is a collection of cells. That is all. No different than cutting out a cyst. Do you support aborition for rape victims? Incest victims? When the mothers life is in danger?
Why dont you respond to the argurments i've posted about immigration, and the seperation of church and state, as opposed to going off on tangents. Call me democrat all you want. My voting record, and my stance on the issues compltely destroys your basis for calling me a democrat, but continue to do it, continue to show your arrogance.

Reactionary, i dont care what reasons they are doing it. Immigration reform was required 25 years ago. Both parties have done nothing to make it happen. Though i do not see how it would do anything to help their election attempts this fall, unless americans want reform, which you claim otherwise. IF they were to do immigration reform, according to you most americans would be upset, that would hurt them in polls. None of the suggested reforms for immigration would make anyone a citizen by november, they would take several years, some proposed bills wouldn't make anyone a citizen for 5 years. So your logic about this Novembers election is quite flawed.

This has been the standard interpetation of the first amendment for over 2 centuries. Former, that is the lowest rate of immigration, per ration of our population in over 100 years. A CENTURY. Break it down into individual countries. We ONLY ALLOW APROX 50,000 MEXICANS TO IMMIGRATE HERE EACH YEAR. At the same time, those that are allowed to come here are over overwhelmingly people who already have family living here. Your tally on first generation immigrant further proves your failure to understand the situation. There are first generation immigrants still alive from 1920. Your counting people that came here over a huge amount of time.

Several of our first presidents, also known as founding fathers, also known as the people who wrote the constitution. These founding fathers have repeatedly said that the first amendment means a seperation of church and state. That is what it means, that is its meaning. You can not twist the constitution to fit your needs of the day. This idea has been reinforced by presents, and supreme courts for more than 2 centuries. 200 years. It is you who fails to understand the meaning. Continue to attack my spelling, or typing, as opposed to the real issues.
