CHARLESTON (AP) - Former Gov. Arch Moore is in a Charleston hospital undergoing evaluation.
A campaign spokesman for Moore's daughter, U.S. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, said the 87-year-old Marshall County resident was admitted late Thursday.
Spokesman Kent Gates said doctors were evaluating Moore Sunday and running tests. Gates did not provide other details or identify the hospital. He did say Moore was resting comfortably with family present.
A Republican, Moore was in Congress before serving three terms as governor between the late 1960s and the late 1980s. But he pleaded guilty to five corruption-related felonies in 1990 and spent 33 months in federal confinement.
The crimes cost Moore his law license. His occupations since include financial and government consulting.
