PLANTS, Barbara A., 73, of Hulls Lane, Benwood, WV, died Sunday, March 18, 2012 at home.

She was born October 15, 1938 in Moundsville, WV, the daughter of Dorothy Franks Shaw of Moundsville and the late, Charles Shaw.

She was a retired District Clerk from the Department of Agriculture and Northern Panhandle Soil Conservation Service; a member of Simpson United Methodist Church; active at McCreary Cemetery Preservation, and Marshall County Historical Society.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband of 55 years, Gerald Plants; two daughters, Debby (Randy) Whitlatch of Moundsville, and Brenda (Clay) Harris of Weirton, WV; a brother, Jim Shaw of Wichita Falls, TX; two sisters, Kathy (Harry) Sacco of Wheeling, and Janet (Dr. Romeo) Tan of Moundsville; two grand children, Tiffany Danhart of Martins Ferry, OH and Kelsey Whitlatch of Moundsville; her cat, Gretchen; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Hospice and her special care givers, including Carolyn Plants.

Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, Moundsville where funeral services will be held Friday at 12 noon with Mike Eskridge officiating.

Interment in Limestone Cemetery, Moundsville.
