ZAINOON, Martha Violet, 91, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Liza's Place, Wheeling, W.Va.
She was the daughter of the late Youseff (Joseph) Gorayeb and Zakia (Ski) Kanaan Gorayeb. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Theresa Gorayeb Yeager and Rose Gorayeb; a brother, Joseph (Buddy) Gorayeb; her son Thaddeus (Teddy); and her devoted husband, Nicholas A. Zainoon.
She is survived by her daughters: Marilyn Jean Loffer (Bill) of Princess Anne, Md., and Nancy Ann Georges (Dr. Angelo) of Wheeling, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Nicholas Loffer of Annapolis, Md., Nataliedrew, Natasha and Ian Georges, all of Wheeling; a sister, Margaret (Gorayeb) Defibaugh of Wheeling; and several nieces and nephews and other close family members.
She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Proud of her Lebanese heritage, she was a member of the Syrian-Lebanese Club of Wheeling. During World War II, she was employed at Warwick China and Wheeling Stamping.
Visitation will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling from 5-8 p.m Sunday, April 15. A vigil service will be held at 6 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with Msgr. Kevin Quirk as celebrant. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that any donations be made to the Home of Good Shepherd or Liza's Place, both of Wheeling.
