EMERY, Lavonda Lee (Yoho), 81, of Moundsville, W.Va. passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital.
Lavonda was born April 9, 1931 on Greenfield Ridge, Marshall County, W.Va., a daughter to the late Clarence and Anna Harlan Yoho. She was a 1950 graduate of Cameron High School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer and Chester Yoho; a sister, Virginia Yoho Adams; and two nephews, Paul Douglas Adams and Timothy Grounds.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James L. Emery Jr. of Moundsville; two sons, Stephen Emery (Cathy) of West Finley, Pa., and James Neal Emery (Renee) of Williamsburg, Va.; one daughter, Debra Lyseski (Jerry) of Wheeling, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday, June 29, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, where funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Roger Ware officiating. Interment will follow at Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, Sherrard, W. Va.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the SCU Unit of Reynolds Memorial Hospital for the loving care that they gave Lavonda during her last days.
