David Riley

RILEY, David T., age 73, of New Martinsville, WV, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at his home.

He was born October 24, 1938 in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late James Edward and May Ashman Riley.

David was a retired shift supervisor at Bayer Chemical; a lifetime member of the Spielers Club in Proctor; a member of Moose Lodge No. 931, New Martinsville; a charter member and past Commander from 2004 - 2009 Sons of American Legion Squadron 28; charter member AMVETS Post 2001, Okeechobee, FL; charter member of VFW Post 9930 Duffy, Ohio; a member of Moose Legion Lodge 160; and the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in New Martinsville. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955 - 1961.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Ruth Riley; a brother, Leroy Bernard Riley; and a sister, Patricia Jean Haught.

Survivors include a son, Terry (Kathy) Cozart of New Martinsville; three brothers, Edward C. (Freda) Riley, William "Bill" (Margaret) Riley and Robert (Carol) Riley; four sisters, Mary Jane (Woody) Woodzell, Florence May (Julian) Miller, Melvene Janet Norris and Sarah Ann (Jack) Snavley; and many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Victor Hunter officiating.

Interment in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.
