DICKSON, Clara Mae, 81, resident of Short Creek, WV, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Liza's Place.
She was born December 19, 1930 in Short Creek, WV, the daughter of the late Milton James and Irene S. Mikels Frye.
Clara was a member of Short Creek United Methodist Church where she also volunteered. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
She was a homemaker, cosmetologist and beautician. She taught at Scott Beauty College.
Clara was also a spot welder at the former Carbarn in Beech Bottom, WV and was a former nurses aide at North Wheeling Hospital.
Surviving are her husband, Samuel R. Dickson Sr.; her children, Carolyn J. Anderson, Samuel R. Dickson Jr. (Geraldin), Cynthia K. Paree and her fiance Ryan Obermeirer, and Lori R. Donzella (Guy); brothers, James Frye (Nancy), John Frye (Carol), and Charles Frye (Pam); sisters, Mary Hercules (Paul), Shirley Baker (Herb), Doris Altmeyer (Lawrence), and Robin Thomas (Jack); grandchildren, Debra Craney (Trevor), Penelope Dickson, Billy Anderson, Nicole Williams, Shelby Rutt (Cory), Jeshua Burwell, Domenico Donzella, Annabella Paree, Katarina Donzella, Hannah Dickson, Hanzel Mae Dickson, Gesam Dickson, Gerin Dickson, and Sam Dickson III.; and four great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Valley Hospice and the staff at Liza's Place, especially Sara, Kim, Delvon, Erin and Regina.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave., Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-277-2722), where services will be held Friday 10:30 a..m with Rev. Jody Carroll officiating.
Interment in Short Creek Cemetery.
